Minimates (Grade TK) Extended Care

Minimates is for children enrolled in Piedmont Unified School District’s TK program. There are morning and afternoon care options. Enrollment is based per day. Drop-in care is not available.

Registration for the 2026/2027 school year is scheduled for Wednesday, July 8, at 6:00 pm.  Please note, registration will not be viewable to the public until this time.

Minimates Basics

  • Age: 4 years by September 1, 2026
    • Must be registered in PUSD's Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
  • Child to staff ratio: 7:1 (Approx.)
  • Location: Havens (AM/PM) and Beach (AM/PM) Schoolmates classrooms, Effective 2026/2027 Wildwood (TBD)

Days and Times

For the 2026/2027 school year, Minimates operates from August 10, 2026 until June 3, 2027

Sunrise (morning)

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:30–11:45am
  • Wednesday: 8:30–10:20 am

Sunset (afternoon)

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 11:45 am–3:00 pm (until 2:00 pm in August)
  • Wednesday: 11:45am–1:45pm

Afternoon end times are strict. If you need care beyond this time, register for Schoolmates.

Cost

  • $11.20 per hour
  • Enrollment is based per day
  • Tuition is paid monthly
  • Enrollment automatically rolls over each month, with the same schedule, unless you submit a request to withdraw.

Waitlist

After the school year starts, new registrations will automatically be placed on a waitlist.

Children can be added to a waitlist during open enrollment periods. Staff will notify families by email when a spot becomes available, typically between the 15th and 20th of each month. Once a spot is offered, families will have 48 hours to accept. Acceptance requires a commitment to the full timeblock, partial-time requests are not permitted.

Mid-Year Open Enrollment

Each month during the school year, online registration is open from the 20th (6:00pm) through the 25th.

Registration is first come, first served, based on availability and room capacity. Your registration is not complete until the transaction is finalized. Please review your receipt to confirm enrollment.

Your first day begins on the next range of service dates, not the date of enrollment.
