Dracena Park ADA Improvements Project

Summary: This project will bring ADA access to the off-leash dog area in upper Dracena Park, including:

  • one accessible (disabled) parallel parking space on Dracena Avenue
  • an ADA accessible pathway from Dracena Avenue to the off-leash dog area
  • ADA seating space in the off-leash dog area

  • September 11, 2023: The City Council unanimously voted to approved the proposed design at their September 1, 2023 meeting.

  • August 10, 2023: The Park Commission voted to recommend the proposed design at their August 2, 2023 meeting. Video of the meeting is available for streaming or download.

  • July 3, 2023: An updated design concept is now available for review.

  • June 20, 2023: The City is developing an updated design concept based on feedback received from the Park Commission and community members.

  • June 7, 2023: City staff presented a preliminary design concept to the Park Commission for discussion. Video

Crocker Park Pathway Repair & ADA Improvements

Summary: This project will replace the cracked asphalt pathways in Crocker Park with new concrete paving, and:

  • install a new bottle filling station
  • create a new ADA path on the King Avenue side of the park
  • add an ADA seating area and bench
  • add an ADA parking space on King Avenue

Guilford Road Traffic & Parking Reconfiguration

Summary: This project will reconfigure traffic and parking on Guilford Road (adjacent to Piedmont Park) in order to ensure access for emergency responders. The project will:

  • convert Guilford Road to one-way travel
  • remove all street parking (20 spaces) on one side of Guilford Road

This project was initiated by a resident petition, signed by all households along Guilford Road.
