Lap and open swim schedules at the Community Pool’s Settlemier Competition Pool will shift in the coming weeks as local youth aquatics teams begin their seasonal practices.
Midday activity hours will change starting Monday, July 27, when the Piedmont High School water polo team starts pre-season practice. Starting August 10, hours will shift again as the PHS water polo team and Piedmont Swim Team fall season practice schedules begin.
From August 10 through October 30, the Competition Pool will be fully dedicated to water polo practice on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings from 9am-11am.
Competition and Activity Pool schedules through October 30 are available on the City’s website at piedmont.ca.gov/pool. Hours are subject to change, so visitors are encouraged to check the website to confirm schedules before visiting.
As a facility built to serve the full community, the pool provides space for recreation, fitness, swim instruction, and youth sports throughout the year – striving to balance water access across the diverse array of community aquatic needs.
During the fall season, the Competition Pool will continue to offer over 61 hours of lap swim and 66 hours of rec/open swim availability each week.

The first year of pool operations is a period of learning and adjustment. Staff are monitoring use patterns, exploring new approaches to balance access needs, and making operational decisions with several goals in mind: maximizing community access, balancing the needs of all user groups, and maintaining a financially sustainable operating model.
