Spring Community Special Events 2021

City of Piedmont Arbor Day Events arborday

This year, the City of Piedmont's Arbor Day Celebration will be held VIRTUALLY on Friday, April 30th. The City will have a link on their website of the Arbor Day video, which highlights the City's 19 heritage trees, as well as a presentation by Zach Parisa speaking about Piedmont's own urban forest.

Arbor Day Tee Planting: The City will be planting three Yulan Magnolias, in memory of Ralston Louie.

Public Works is also hosting a Chalk Art Contest for our youngest residents. Participants can pick their favorite street or park tree (next to a sidewalk), write the tree's name in chalk, along with any inspired artwork honoring the tree! If you need assistance identifying your tree, please  contact Parks & Project Manager, Nancy Kent.

Please send your photo of the artist and tree to [email protected]

Prizes will be awarded for the most creative tree art!

Earth Day Scavenger Hunt

We only have ONE Earth, and we are on it together!

Come investigate Piedmont's local environmental treasures in another fun, Covid-safe, citywide scavenger hunt to celebrate Earth Day.

During this two-week event (April 10–24), explorers will search Piedmont's great outdoors, solving puzzles and riddles to find local sustainability features, and learn about ways to conserve our natural resources.

Piedmont's Sustainability Division, PRD Staff, and Piedmont Connect have joined together to create this fun, family-friendly scavenger hunt! The scavenger hunt can be accessed through the Actionbound App and prizes will be given to all explorers (app instructions will be emailed to families prior to event start).

Registration NOW AVAILABLE on PRD's Community Pass page and will be open until Friday, April 9th.
