Statewide / City of Piedmont General Election – November 6th

On Tuesday, November 6th, there will be a Statewide / City of Piedmont General Election, which includes election of three seats on the Piedmont City Council and two seats on the Board of Education as well as elections for United States Senator, United States Representative, Governor of the State of California, all statewide elected offices, Assemblymember, and other offices. Also on the ballot are several statewide measures, several special district measures, and two City of Piedmont measures.

Voter Registration

The last day to register to vote for the November 8th election is Monday, October 22nd. Voter registration forms are available at the City Clerk’s Office and the Registrar of Voters Office. Online voter registration is available at http://registertovote.ca.gov/

Vote By Mail

The last day to request a Vote by Mail ballot is Tuesday, October 30th.  Vote By mails ballot will begin mailing on October 8th. Voters may drop Vote By Mail ballots in to the secure ballot box located on Highland Way near the mailboxes 24 hours a day up to and including Election Day. Voters may also turn in Vote By Mail ballots to any polling place in Alameda County on Election Day.

Sample Ballot / Voter Information Pamphlet

The Alameda County Registrar of Voters began mailing Sample Ballot / Voter Information Pamphlets to registered voters on Thursday, September 27th. If you have not received your sample ballot by October 16th, please contact the Alameda County Registrar of Voters Office at (510) 272-6933.


Measures BB and CC

At its regular meeting on July 16, 2018, the City Council placed two measures proposing amendments to the Piedmont City Charter on the November ballot.

Measure BB proposes amendments to several portions of the charter, including modification of procedures for filling of vacancies on the City Council and Board of Education, modification of term limits for the City Council, and making other clarifying amendments regarding City record keeping, format of City ordinances, public posting, City contract approval, operation of City Council meetings, and other minor technical amendments.

Measure CC proposes amendments to the Charter to clarify the duties and reporting structure for officers and employees of the City.

Polling Place Locations

There will be six polling places inPiedmonton Election Day. The Registrar of Voters will announce the locations forty days before the election. Your polling place location will be indicated on your Voter Information Pamphlet.

Poll Workers Needed

The Alameda County Registrar of Voters is seeking poll workers for the November 4th Election. If you are interested in being a poll worker or doing other work related to the election, please visit the Registrar of Voters Election Worker page. The Registrar is especially seeking bilingual poll workers.
