Piedmont Police Training & Internal Affairs
The policy of the Piedmont Police Department is to administer a training program that will provide for the professional growth and continued development of its personnel. By so doing, the police department will ensure its personnel possess the knowledge and skills necessary to provide a professional level of service that meets the needs of the community.
The Piedmont Police Department seeks to provide on-going training and encourages all personnel to participate in advanced training and formal education on a continual basis. Training is provided within the confines of funding, requirements of a given assignment, staffing levels, and legal mandates. Whenever possible, the Piedmont Police Department will use courses certified by the California Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST).
The objectives of the Piedmont Police Department's training program are to enhance the level of law enforcement service to the public, increase the technical expertise and overall effectiveness of our personnel, and provide for continued professional development of department personnel.
The members of the Piedmont Police Department welcome feedback from our citizens. We want the standards of the Piedmont Police Department to be among the highest in the nation. Our community and the level of police service that we all benefit from can best prosper by your support of these standards through commendations, recommendations, questions, or complaints.
