We are comprised of dedicated professionals committed to providing the highest quality of service and protection to the Piedmont community. Piedmont has a tradition of being a safe place to live, work and play, accomplished through community partnerships. By combining the strengths of technical advancements, the highest possible professional standards and training, and public awareness and cooperation, the Piedmont Police Department utilizes all available resources to meet the current and future policing needs of our community.
The Piedmont Police Department employs 20 sworn personnel (the Police Chief, two Captains, four Sergeants and thirteen Police Officers), 8 non-sworn personnel (five Dispatchers, two Animal Services Officers and one Administrative Assistant), part-time Per Diem Dispatchers, and part-time Parking Enforcement Officers. The department has specially trained canines performing patrol services, searches and back-up for their handler-officers. Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS) and Police Explorers round out our staff of devoted public servants.
