Whitaker House

Picture titled "Herman Whitaker in one corner of his den, Piedmont, California" from an article in the Overland Magazine in 1908. Whitaker was a writer and friend of Jack London. His daughter, Elsie, married Xavier Martinez, another member of the Piedmont Bohemian set. Whitaker built the house and made much of the original furniture.
