Council Agenda Report

Date: January 3, 2005

From: Ann Swift, City Clerk/IS Manager

Subject: Approval of a Resolution Continuing the Appeal of 62 Farragut Avenue to the Regular Council Meeting of February 7, 2005

Recommendation

By motion, approve a resolution continuing the appeal of 62 Farragut Avenue to the regular council meeting of February 7, 2005 as requested by the appellant.

Background:

On December 15, 2004, the city received an appeal from Mr. Ken Mattson of the Planning Commission's decision to deny with prejudice design review for a garage at 62 Farragut Avenue. As provided by the city code, this matter was scheduled for January 3, 2005 and was noticed to affected neighbors on December 16, 2004.

On December 23, 2004, a request for continuance until February 7, 2005 was received from the appellant. The appellant was advised that the February agenda was already quite full, but reiterated the request to have this matter heard on that date. The council has traditionally approved requests for continuance as a courtesy to the appellant and a notice of this prospective change has been sent to affected neighbors.

A motion for continuance must be passed in order for this matter to be heard on February 7, 2005.
