The City of Piedmont will hold its General Municipal Election on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. There are two seats up for election on the City Council and three seats up for election on the Board of Education. A measure regarding a Special Municipal Sewer Surtax also appears on the ballot.

On January 18th and February 15th, the Piedmont Recreation Commission will hold hearings on the operation of the Piedmont Community Pool in the City Council Chambers at 120 Vista Avenue, Piedmont. On December 5, 2011, the Piedmont City Council approved the Blair Park element of the Moraga Canyon Sports Fields Project and rejected the Coaches Field element of the same project. Along with approving the Blair Park element, the Council passed several conditions of approval for the project. The Council did not act on a proposed site lease for the construction of the Blair Park element, continuing that matter to a future meeting.
